In 2021, our school was a State Winner in the Child Protection Week awards.
In 2018, our school was awarded the Darling Downs South West Regional Showcase Award for Excellence in Indigenous Eduation - the second year in a row our school was awarded a Showcase Award!
In 2018, our school was invited to share our Culturally Inclusive Pedagogy Project at the State Indigenous Education Conference.
In 2017, our school was awarded the Darling Downs South West Regional Showcase Award for our Early Literacy work.
In 2014, our school celebrated 150 years of
providing quality public education in Goondiwindi. Special events included a
Meet and Greet, Gundy State Fantastic Fete, Cocktail Party, a commemorative
historical book and the inauguration of a new time capsule. Our official guest
was His Excellency The Governor of Queensland, Paul de Jersey AC and Mrs de
Jersey.
In 2014, our Physical Education Teacher Mr Stan McDonnell
was awarded Life Membership of both the Queensland Schools Rugby League
Association, and the Darling Downs Sport Council.
In 2014, our school was one of only four invited to
host a Sporting Breakfast to celebrate 35 years of Darling Downs School Sport.
In 2013, our school was named Darling Downs Sports
School of the Year, in recognition of a range of significant events,
achievements and support of State sporting carnivals staged in Goondiwindi.
In 2013, our school staged the Goondiwindi Horse
Sports, the first State School event of its’ type in Queensland.
In 2013, Mr Stan McDonnell was named Sports
Administrator/Coach of the Year, student Elizabeth Brown was named Junior
Sportsperson of the Year, and Mr Duncan Wilkes received the Cultural Award from
the Goondiwindi Regional Council at the Australia Day Awards Ceremony.
In 2010, Deputy Principal Mr Lew Verney was awarded
Citizen of the Year by the Goondiwindi Regional Council at the Australia Day
Awards Ceremony.
In 2006, our school was chosen to be only one of 100
Australia-wide to pilot KidsMatter, the Australian Primary Schools Mental
Health initiative.
In 2002, our school won the Warwick District
Showcase Award for the GRRIP project – Goondiwindi Readers Reaching
Independence Program.
In 2002, our school was awarded the CARRSQ Schools
Road Safety Award for the implementation of our Bus Lane project, moving the
waiting and loading area for school buses off-street, increasing both safety
and parking for parents.
