Principal’s welcome


Goondiwindi State School has been part of our community since 1864 and has a very proud tradition of community based education with a vision for supporting the development of future citizens who have the skills and knowledge to contribute and thrive in the wider community.

Our current focus for improvement includes -

  • Providing professional development in the Australian Curriculum: English, to support consistency of practice and build staff capability 
  • Providing professional development for teachers in highly effective Mathematical teaching
  • Undertaking a full review of PBL which involves all stakeholders

Our school boasts a staff with a high level of experience and expertise, including a Head of Special Education, Head of Curriculum, Support Teacher – Literacy and Numeracy, Health and Physical Education Teacher, Technology and helath Teacher, Instrumental and Classroom Music Teachers, and a Speech Language Pathologist. We are a learning community, with all staff supported in their professional growth, through feedback, coaching and professional development.

Our Parents and Citizens Association are an integral part of our school, supporting our students and school to be a great place of learning. 

We are very proud of our school, students and community and welcome new families to our school. 

It really is 'Just Great at Gundy State'.
